| WEDDING CEREMONY FEES |
My fees are based on the date, time, and location of your wedding ceremony. My fee for ceremonies in San Diego proper start at $250. Certain areas of San Diego County and Southern California, weekends, holidays and unusual locations or times may be a little bit extra. If you decide to retain me as your officiant, all I need to hold your date and time is a $100 non-refundable booking fee, which is deducted from the total cost. For wedding packages, the booking fee may be slightly larger, depending on the cost of the package. The balance is due on the day of the ceremony. The booking fee can be paid via check, money order, PayPal.com or by credit card (a 4% convenience fee applies for PayPal or credit card payments). As soon as it is received, I will send you an e-confirmation and your date is booked! Finally, since things can get a little hectic after the ceremony, the remainder of your payment is always taken care of before the wedding begins. Most couples either send payment by mail before the ceremony or just include the payment with the marriage license when they give it to me at the ceremony... it is very discreet and doesn't take away from the "essence" of your wedding day. |

You May Need A Sound System...
We’ve all been to a wedding ceremony where the Bride and Groom’s beautiful words to each other just could not be heard, either because there was no sound system or the sound system provided was not adequate nor was it operated by a qualified soundman. With the help of my wonderful husband, who owns a professional sound company, I have put together custom-designed sound systems specifically for wedding ceremonies. My sound systems are the result of years of performing weddings at various venues where there was awful “ringing” feedback, wind noise, and/or the Bride and Groom simply could not be heard at all. I offer my couples a small, yet powerful and unobtrusive battery-powered sound system with a very unique microphone for your ceremony. It requires no electrical power so it can be set up at any location. |
I include a professional, qualified soundman to ensure that the sound is perfectly balanced at all times. We use a very special type of microphone which, unlike the standard hand-held or lapel-type microphones you may be familiar with, is specifically designed to pick up speaking voices at a distance. It is positioned on a thin stand about waist high instead of near your faces, so as not to obscure your photographs. You don’t have to lean in to the microphone to be heard. You can just speak normally and your guests will hear you loud and clear. It’s almost as if the microphone wasn’t even there! A sound system is suggested for outdoor or indoor weddings with more than 50 guests in attendance, especially if they are seated in chairs in rows. Remember, you DO NOT have to rent the sound system that is offered by the venue. They are frequently overpriced and inadequate, designed more for playing DJ music than for a wedding ceremony. Also, beware of the DJ that says he can just “set up a microphone” for the ceremony. This standard setup will always require 1) the microphone be held by the officiant and pointed at the Bride and Groom while they are saying their vows. This can be awkward and a bit nerve-wracking for the Bride and Groom who may already be a little bit nervous... or 2) the microphone is on a stand. Since the microphone is uni-directional and typically pointed at the officiant, it will only pick up the officiant's voice, not yours. In addition, it will be seen in your photographs and overall, really takes away from the beauty of your ceremony. The sound system will accommodate up to 200 people. Please note, the sound system is not included in the officiant fee and is an additional $250. Light classical background music and traditional processional and recessional music is included at no charge. I would also be happy to play any music that you supply on CD I am happy to have the opportunity to offer an affordable alternative to my couples to help them have a perfect, stress-free ceremony that everyone can hear! * * * * * * * * * * * ON A BUDGET? YOU CAN BE THE DJ! If you need a larger sound system to play music at your reception (using your own iPod as the DJ, for instance) and/or a screen and projector for a PowerPoint presentation or slide show of photos, feel free to contact my husband, Grant at (858) 278-6364, visit his website at www.GDproductions.com or drop him an e-mail at Grant@GDproductions.com. |
